NBA Trade Rumors: Rajon Rondo To Lakers For Jeremy Lin And Julius Randle? Rondo’s Agent Claims Celtics Team Captain Will Wear Green At Start Of The Season!

The NBA Trade Rumors are going back and forth with reports on Rajon Rondo. After reports spread that he demanded a trade Rondo's representatives deny that their client has made such threats.

The denial was reported by CSNNE:

"Multiple league sources have repeatedly said that Rondo wants to start the season in Boston and see where things go from there. A similar sentiment has trickled out of Celtics camp, as well.

Rondo is hopeful that the team Danny Ainge is assembling around him is better than most anticipate, that they can be this season's feel-good story not only in the East but throughout the NBA."

There would be a school of thought that would consider that statement as lip service to avoid diminishing Rondo's trade value. In any case of a trade demand, a player's trade value plummets.

Yet there are still rumor mongers that insist a trade between the Lakers and Celtics, the NBA's bitterest rivals-simply because it would be beneficial for both sides.

From The Sports Crave:

"The Lakers have plenty of expiring contracts with Jeremy Lin and Steve Nash, a combination of draft picks and Julius Randle, that make a deal appealing to Boston."

Boston will most likely prefer Lin to Nash because he's a player they can use. Still, the probability of this trade is very low.

The Lakers know full well that they can sign Rondo outright without sacrificing anyone. Rondo will be a free agent and the Lakers will have enough cap space.

The only reason a trade is required is that Rondo would want to transfer to a contender who does not have extra cap space at the end of the season. Apparently, the Celtics and Rondo's camp are cooperating so Boston can get the most value for him while Rajon Rondo can play for a contender.

They are essentially trying to hit two birds with one stone. Can they pull it off?
