Amazon Fire TV vs PlayStation TV vs Apple TV: Specs And Features Of These Streaming And Mirroring Devices Compared; Which Would Be The Best For You?

Which streaming media box should be the best fit for you? These gadgets seem to be compact but have a wide range of entertainment and features to offer.

Take a look as we compare the top three devices on the market: Amazon Fire TV, PlayStation TV and the Apple TV.

Amazon Fire TV is set to be a game changer with its packed features mainly suitable for Amazon Prime subscribers, with its bundled subscription for use for streaming sites such as Netflix or Hulu. It can be purchased for $99 plus another $99 for a year of subscription.

Tagged to be the fastest among its competitors, the Amazon Fire TV is packed with a 1.7 GHz Quad-core + GPU processor, a 2MB memory, 8GB storage, a voice-command search for Prime users and over 134 games. It can come with a gamepad for an extra charge of $40 and can be used with a Kindle Fire for mirroring.

PlayStation TV, meanwhile, intends to be Apple's toughest competitor after announcing the release of their latest product to go after the Apple TV. During the recently held E3 2014 conference, Sony revealed the PlayStation TV would be out in the market

These gadgets seem to have the same purpose but with a slight difference. Sony, however, made sure that the PlayStation TV doesn't only stream on various sites but is more focused on gaming. It has the power to stream PlayStation 4 and Vita games even if your console is plugged in to another television.

Just like the other streaming devices, the PlayStation TV costs $99 and can be bundled with a Dual Shock 3 Controller, 8GB memory card, HDMI cable and a gift voucher for $139.

The Apple TV, on the other hand, is tagged to be the most user-friendly and practical based on users who own iOS and Apple devices, which can be used for mirroring.

The Apple TV has a single-core 2 GHz processor, which appears to be the slowest among its competitors, a 512MB memory and the capability of AirPlay.

This device is also marked at $99 alongside its competitors.
