Katy Perry Video From When She Was A Christian Singer Unearthed; 'Dark Horse' Singer Seen In Rare Footage Before She Was Famous

A Katy Perry video from when she was a teen Christian singer was unearthed and released.

The Katy Perry video posted on Vimeo by award-winning videographer Jim Standridge shows the "Dark Horse" singer years before her rise to stardom.

The 12-minute video titled "Katy Perry Uncensored Raw Talent" was shot in 2001. The video's accompanying text read: "I was very fortunate to meet and hang out with this genuine talent in the beginning of her career. The other day I was cleaning out some old footage in my office and found 90 minutes of raw footage I had totally forgot about."

"Funny how she spent so much time messing with her hair," the text continued, suggesting at a mannerism the pop superstar had outgrown and replaced with changing her image every so often. "In the present day her hair changes color and style in every photo shoot, music video and performanc... I think Katy has grown into an amazing entertainer and woman."

The beginning of the Katy Perry video shows the "Fireworks" singer as a teen who goes on tour to sing but is concerned with typical problems faced by people her age at the time like her skin. "I usually put loads of make up on before the show because I'm a pizza face," said Perry on the video, refering to her skin problem with humor. "Would you like pepperoni or cheese?"

The video of Perry on her teens is a far cry from how she is now during performances - a diva who shows no signs of nervousness. Katy Hudson, as she was known then, explains how she gets nervous about performing in front of a crowd but was very thankful for the opportunity to play.

"I always want it to be a gift; I don't want it to be a gig," said Perry on the video. "I hate that. I really do. Everyone thinks I'm like, superstar, rock star, but that's not how I am at all. I'm just some little kid from California who plays the guitar and sings. I write what I think needs to be written."

Meanwhile, the singer's camp has yet to release a statement regarding the Katy Perry video.
