iCloud Hacked Photos Of Celebrities, Including Address Book, Text Messages, Calendars And More! What Have The Hackers Gathered?

Latest news on iCloud hacked photos of well-known celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst and others have been swirling around, and it was confirmed in the report of the Sydney Morning Herald that hackers also gained information aside from the photos.

The Australian security researcher Nik Cubrilovic told the Fairfax Media said that victims' personal information like notes, calendars, text messages and address books stored on their iPhones were also accessible by the hackers.

In the article of the Sydney Morning Herald, Cubrilovic said that real-time GPS co-ordinates also available through the Find My iPhone feature that pinpoints locations.

"It appears the intention was to never make these images public, but that somebody ... decided that the opportunity to make some money was too good to pass up and decided to try to sell some of the images," said Cubrilovic in the report of the Sydney Morning Herald.

Cubrilovic described how the iCloud hacked photo happened, one method involved sending fake emails to the users, pretending from Apple Company, asking to respond to their secret questions to keep their account active. The other one is obtaining information from different social networking site account.

Furthermore, Cubrilovic said that iCloud hacked photos of celebrities happened because Apple's security was insufficient.

"Two-factor authentication for iCloud is useless in preventing passwords or authentication tokens being used to extract online back-ups," said Cubrilovic in the report of the Sydney Morning Herald.

"Two-factor authentication is [only] used to protect account details and updates, [not iCloud back-ups]," he added.
