‘Sailor Moon’ Updates! Viz Media To Host 'Moonlight Party’ Youtube Event To Celebrate Remastered 'Sailor Moon' English Dub Release, Limited Edition ‘Sailor Moon Crystal’ Blu-Ray Previewed
English Sailor Scouts unite! Viz Media has just announced that it will hold a special live streaming event called the "Moonlight Party" to celebrate the release of the first four episodes of their remastered English dubbing of "Sailor Moon." The episodes will be available on Hulu and Neon Alley. In addition to this, the recent reboot of the popular magical girl series, "Sailor Moon Crystal," has just previewed a new limited edition Blu-ray box set.
According to Anime News Network, "Viz Media announced on Tuesday that the first four episodes of its 'Sailor Moon' English dub will premiere on Hulu and Neon Alley on Friday at 11:00 p.m. EST. Dubbed episodes 5-23 will begin streaming on Sunday at 3:00 a.m. EST."
In addition to this, Viz Media staff will also host a live streaming event on its official Youtube channel. The event will be called the "Moonlight Party: A Celebration of Sailor Moon Reborn." "The virtual ‘slumber party' will take place beginning at 8:00pm (PST) on Friday, September 5th," says Anime News Network. Fans can submit questions to the Viz Media staff via facebook and twitter for the duration of the event.
"Sailor Moon" fans will also get another dose of excitement, this time for the recent reboot of the Japanese series, "Sailor Moon Crystal." Crunchyroll reports: "Sailor Moon Crystal will be released in 13 two-episode volumes shipping monthly, with the limited editions starting in October and the standard DVD and Blu-ray starting in November. In addition to special packaging and booklets, the limited editions include special strap charms, and a complete set is housed in a music box that plays ‘Moon Pride,' arranged by Akiko Kosaka. Jacket art for the first has now been revealed."
It looks like this weekend in anime will be a weekend filled with excitement for magical girls. In addition to Viz Media's "Moonlight Party" release, "Sailor Moon Crystal" will release its next episode this Saturday.
