Wesley Snipes Served With Lawsuit As He Makes His Comeback; Snipes Rumored to Star in New `Blade’ Movie

Wesley Snipes was released from prison after serving three years for tax evasion last year, but he is still dodging subpoenas.

According to published reports, Snipes was served court papers right on a Hollywood red carpet while he was promoting his new movie "The Expendables 3."  

According to Radar Online, the actor was on his way to the movie's after-party when, he was served with a notice ordering him to appear for a debtor's examination.

Public relations agency Sitrick & Company is suing Snipes failing to pay for the work the powerful PR firm did when the actor was facing felony tax evasion charges. According to published reports Sitrick & Co. was already given a judgment that Snipes failed to pay. The fee has now grown to more than $103,000.

According to court documents, Snipes was ordered to "furnish information to aid in enforcement of a money judgement." The documents say Snipes "may be subject to arrest and punishment for contempt of court, and the court may take an order requiring [him] to pay reasonable attorney fees incurred by the judgment creditor in this proceeding."

Snipes was convicted of three misdemeanor counts of failure to file tax returns for three years. He was convicted for not paying $7 million in taxes. Snipes appealed but lost and was sentenced to three years in prison. The actor was released in 2013.

Wesley Snipes may have spent three years in jail, but he didn't lose his sense of humor.

Snipes tax troubles are just on in-joke that can be found in the new The Expendables 3.

"Whether I do something really funny or really stupid, it is okay with me," Snipes told The Associated Press. "I think that is what life is about. You can't take life itself too seriously."

Wesley Snipes might star in the next "Blade" movie, which will be made by Marvel. The first three "Blade" movies were produced by New Line/Warner Bros. The Blade character was created by Marvel Comics. New Line reportedly doesn't own the rights to the character Blade anymore. They have reverted back to Marvel Studios. it has been ten years since the last Blade movie.

According to the Daily News, Wesley Snipes would have a $3 million payday and get a cut of the profits for starring in a new installment of the "Blade" series.
