The Veronicas 2014 Song 'You Ruin Me' Teaser Released; Australian Duo Makes A Comeback After 2 Years

The Veronicas' 2014 comeback has been started as the Australian duo release a teaser to their new song "You Ruin Me" after a 2-year hiatus.

Twenty-nine-year-old twins Jessica and Lisa Origliasso reportedly spent two years travelling and working on their new album under Sony Music. They were previously signed under Warner Music.

The new song, which reportedly bears the same name as The Veronicas 2014 album due this year, was written by David Musmeci and Anthony Egizii also known as DNA songs.

"Sometimes a song comes along that no amount of planning as a songwriter can prepare you for. This song was written and recorded at 1am in the throes of emotion. We reworked it only a handful of times, leaving it in the raw state it was created," said the duo about their new song in a statement.

"We have never been afraid to write from our hearts, and there is something that captures us when writing about heartbreak that we will always want to share. Because in the places we are broken, these are the places we learn to become the strongest. This is our time of rebirth," continued the twins.

The duo, who claimed fame in 2009 through the hit song "Untouched," which made them the second Australian act to have a song debut on Billboard's Top 20 chart, also shared their thoughts about the current state of the pop industry.

"We have never released a ballad before as a single but it's time to not do what people expect," said Jessica. "I listen to the radio a lot and can't stand half the shit I hear because it is contrived and geared towards an image rather than the enjoyment of music. I get the pop industry but I am proud we have put our hearts into this."

The Veronicas 2014 single "You Ruin Me" will be released on September 19.
