Vampire Diaries Season 6 Spoilers: Stefan And Caroline’s Relationship Will Be ‘One-Sided,’ Are They Just Friends?

New "Vampire Diaries" season 6 spoilers reveal that Stefan and Caroline's budding relationship will be "one-sided," suggesting that Steroline might be better off just as friends. Read on to find out more "Vampire Diaries" season 6 spoilers!

According to TVLine, Caroline and Stefan's romance will become "a major part" of "Vampire Diaries" season 6, but it isn't exactly a "two-way street."

"She's going to realize it's a little more one-sided than she was hoping, and there's going to be some fallout from that," executive producer Caroline Dries said. "But just because one character doesn't like another character, that doesn't mean it's not a fascinating love story."

IB Times reports Stefan "doesn't have the emotional energy for a relationship" after all that happened in "Vampire Diaries" season 5, including the loss of his brother, Damon, to the Other Side.

Unfortunately for Steroline fans, Stefan is still "a typical guy who just sees Caroline as a friend."

Paul Wesley previously spoke to TVLine about his character Stefan, and actually hinted that there may be a love interest in the works!

"Stefan's been pretty good. He deserves some action," Wesley said. Will Caroline be a part of this?

Nina Dobrev also added that Elena likely won't come between the budding relationship of her ex boyfriend and best friend.

"That'd be so hypocritical," Dobrev said. "[Elena] dated both of the brothers. She [kept] it in the family."

Is it possible that maybe Stefan and Elena will get back together?

"Right now, the love between Damon and Elena is so strong, and the friendship between Stefan and Elena has grown so strong," executive producer Julie Plec said.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 will premiere on October 2 on The CW Network.
