‘Attack On Titan: The Last Wings Of Humanity’ Update! New Version Adds Multiplayer, U.S. Fans Still Hope For North American Release, Side Story Ilse’s Notebook To Air On TV

The titans are coming, and this time you can fight them with your friends! Today a new version of the "Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Humanity" 3DS game was announced that will include a new multiplayer mode. The update also included new stages. With this update announcement, hopes for a U.S. release of the game stir up again. The final update for the popular "Attack on Titan" manga series is that the sidestory of "Ilse's Notebook" will finally air on TV this month.

Anime News Network reported today that, "the Shingeki no Kyojin ~Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa (Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Humanity) Nintendo 3DS action game is returning in a new edition this December. Spike Chunsoft is adding an Internet cooperative play feature to the new Shingeki no Kyojin ~Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa Chain edition." This new multiplayer version allows four players to team up using wifi connection and complete various missions as existing characters or as characters of their own creation.

In addition to this, the update will add new stages, new voices to new characters, and new titan behaviors. All in all, it looks like something to look forward to in December, but sadly, only if you live in Japan. Meanwhile, U.S. fans continue to wonder if the game will ever make it to the states.

When the game was originally announced, a rumor began to circulate that Spike Chunsoft representatives were looking for a publishing partner to get the game stateside, according to Siliconera. No news of a U.S. release date has since been revealed, but here's hoping that there's a surprise for U.S. "Attack on Titan" fans, perhaps at the upcoming annual Tokyo Game Show?

The final "Attack on Titan" announcement for today is that the sidestory anime "Ilse's Notebook" will finally air on TV in Japan. It was originally packaged with a manga release and will come to small screens on September 28th. Perhaps the air date means that U.S. fans will get an official English sub or maybe even dub since Funimation has licensed the anime adaptation in the states at this point?

All in all, it's another exciting day in the world of 3D maneuvering and titan fighting.
