Beyonce VMA Behind The Scenes Video: 'Partition' Singer Stresses Over Rehearsal Time; Recieves Congratulations From Blue Ivy

Everyone was talking about Beyonce’s unforgettable performance at the VMAs this year, and now we have a rare opportunity to peak behind the scenes. The singer has released a video that gives us a glimpse into all the thought, work and planning that went into putting on a flawless show. The video shows the singer and her people address choreography, costumes, makeup and limited rehearsal time, and of course, there’s a moment of Blue Ivy being adorable.

 The video starts out with the singer praying with her backup dancers and crew before diving into all the work that needs to be done. We then see her choreographer rehearse and discuss each segment of the performance with the dozens of backup dancers involved. “It’s a 15 minute performance, and we have different sections,” he explains, “We have the guys with the treadmill so that’s all you have to worry about. ‘Drunken Love’ ladies, all you have to worry about is nailing that leg section.”

The video shows the level of focus Queen Bey puts into seeing that her vision is executed perfectly. At one point we see the singer stress over the fact that they were only able to do one run through of the entire number on stage. “It’s unbelievable,” she vents nervously, “I’m trying to like, really compose myself. I can’t believe that we only did it one time.

 When the star wants all her dancers painted head-to-toe white, staff must scramble since there is only one makeup artist, and an hour to prepare. Two assistants jump in to paint their bodies, while the makeup artist focuses on their faces.

Of course the performance goes without a hitch, as we all saw, with the Beyonce dazzling the celebrity-filled audience and viewers at home with a spectacular, larger-than-life show. After the she accepts the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, we see the singer walking backstage with husband Jay Z and baby Blue Ivy, who tells her mother “everybody says ‘good job.’” The video ends with Bey toasting over drinks and thanking the people who helped make it all, as everyone cheers excitedly.
