Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: Midrange Desire 820 Poised To Bring Rewards To Phone Maker, Find Out Why

In spite getting some traction in the market following its HTC One M8 flagship and other midrangers, HTC is still a long way to go in becoming a relevant name against the top Android phone makers in the market today. Fortunately, one of its upcoming HTC phones for 2014 is moving in the right direction to entice Android fans.

During HTC's press event at the IFA showcase, the Taiwanese manufacturer took the wraps off of its midranger Android handset.

Dubbed as the Desire 820, it is a successor to the highly successful Desire 816 which was released earlier this year.

While the smartphone is a midranger, its design may fool a lot of people.

The phone may be encased in plastic, but HTC reportedly used a new technology in this one to make it stand out. The colored accents for the camera sensor and the HTC logo at the back are surely gorgeous design decisions for the Taiwanese manufacturer.

The Android-powered handset is HTC's second smartphone that boasts Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 chip, which supports 64-bit applications.

Also on board is a huge 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM and a 16GB internal memory.

At the back of the device is a 'regular' 13MP primary camera which would delight HTC fans who missed it, and a very impressive 8MP selfie-ready front shooter.

In reports, the device will be priced at around €300, which is still pretty affordable considering the specs it has.
