Xiaomi Mi3 Review: 4 Reasons Why Xiaomi's Previous Flagship Is Still The Best Bang-For-Buck Smartphone Even After IFA 2014

Xiaomi Mi3 review: The Xiaomi Mi3 is last year's flagship, and in fact it was announced just after the IFA event in 2013, but even after a year later, it remans as one of the most popular smartphones in Asia today.

There are a number of good-looking smartphones which made their debut at the IFA event in Berlin this year, though that does not mean that they will automatically become a hit. But in case you are looking for a decent smartphone where you will enjoy the biggest bang for your buck, the Mi3 is still the best option.

Here are 4 reasons why:

It is already available

One reason why this is a good option to buy is that it is already in the market, particularly in some parts of Asia. Most of the smartphones announced at the IFA will not be released until later this month, and so the Mi3 is already ahead in that department. The fact that it only hit the market outside of China this year means it is still fresh for the picking.

It is a (former) high-end smartphone with a midrange price

Last year, the Xiaomi Mi3 specs are considered high-end, but still in spite the fact that the smartphone is already a year old, its specs are still way above the current midrangers in the market. The Mi3 packs a Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a 16GB internal memory and a 13MP/5MP camera combo. The only downside of the phone is that it does not have a 32GB option overseas, and does not come with a microSD card slot.

Xiaomi is becoming a trusted brand worldwide

While Xiaomi has not officially released a smartphone outside of Asia, it is already becoming a favorite even for the Western market, particularly due to its build quality and affordability. You would want to a make an impression in a certain market before you release phones in those areas, and Xiaomi is doing a good job in doing just that.

It comes with the latest version of Android

Last year, when the Mi3 was announced, it came with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board which would be upgradeable to Kit Kat. However, for newer versions of the device, they all now have Kit Kat out of the box.
