HTC Desire 820 Release Date: New Android Midranger Boasts Impressive Design, Specs, Should Have Affordable Pricing

The Taiwanese manufacturer has been very picky when it comes to announcing devices this year. Fortunately, there are more reasons why it should launch the HTC Desire 820 release date at the IFA showcase last week.

Aside from the fact that it is the manufacturer's second 64-bit powered smartphone, it boasts specs which could easily rival flagship devices from other brands.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered handset boasts a huge 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a Snapdragon 615 chipset from Qualcomm, an octa-core CPU and 2GB of RAM.

Other specs include a 16GB internal memory with a microSD card slot that can handle 128GB of expanded storage.

At the back is a 13MP shooter, while the front gets an impressive 8MP camera that will surely come in handy for a selfie-crazed market.

The device comes with Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat out of the box and is powered by a capable 2,600mAh battery.

It may not look like it, but both 64-bit-powered smartphones from HTC may be rivals to the upcoming iPhone, both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions.

Samsung has also announced its own handsets to join the battle with iOS, but it looks like it will require a massive price to pay.

Meanwhile, reports say that the HTC Desire 820 will be priced at €300, which is still on the midrange price level.
