Fran Drescher Is Married Again; 'Happily Divorced' Star Weds Scientist Shiva Ayyadurai

The "Happily Divorced" star is now happily wed! Fran Drescher is married again, this time with scientist Shiva Ayyadurai.

Fran Drescher married Ayyadurai on Sunday in their home in Malibu, California.

The beach wedding was reportedly an intimate ceremony shared with only the couple's families and close friends.

The news of the happy wedding was announced by no less than Drescher herself who took to Twitter to reveal it, saying: "Surprise!!!!! We got married!"

According to The Daily Mail, Drescher was clad in red instead of western traditional white as a way of showing respect to Ayyadurai, who is of Indian descent.

Drescher's dress was reportedly made by Badgley Mischka and Ayyadurai's polo shirt and suit was by Ralph Lauren.

The couple met last year at the scientist's talk hosted by Deepak Chopra. "I was speaking on sages and scientists - in fact, talking about innovation and the fact that we need to more universally look at the models of innovation," said the email inventor about his first meeting with the "Nanny" star. "And Fran heard my talk and we fell in love, and we've been together since that talk."

"Every day is a celebration with Fran," the scientist added. "Every day is almost a romantic hangout with her. We're always laughing, always enjoying ourselves."

Before meeting Ayyadurai, Fran Drescher was married to Peter Marc Jacobson for 21 years. The couple divorced in 1999 and Jacobson later revealed that he was gay.

In an interview with People magazine in 2011, Drescher shared how her ex-husband revealed to her that he was gay and how their relationship was after they divorced. "During our marriage he had told me he might be bisexual, but he wanted to stay married. By the time he told me, I had survived uterine cancer. Nothing could shake me," said Drescher. "All those years weren't for nothing. We're very tight. We're best friends."
