Doctor Who Season 8 Christmas Special Spoilers: Danny Pink Confirmed As Filming Begins, But Samuel Anderson Uncertain About Series 9 And Beyond

"Doctor Who" season 8 has begun airing, and spoilers regarding the Christmas Special have surfaced.

Fans of the new character Danny Pink, portrayed by Samuel Anderson, can rest easy knowing that the character will appear in the "Doctor Who" season 8 Christmas Special. Sadly, it doesn't confirm or deny his presence beyond that.

“I have no idea what their plans are for next year," said Anderson according to Cult Box. "I’ve confirmed my availability for the Christmas special, so I hope so. I feel like I’ve just begun."

“I mean, I started in January but then suddenly it was all finished! Watching Michelle Gomez [Missy] and Peter Capaldi… like, I’m only just learning how far you can push performances in the show and what you can do.”

According to DoctorWhoTV, filming for the "Doctor Who" season 8 Christmas Special begins today, on September 8. During his interview, Anderson also spoke on upcoming newcomer, Courtney, who many theorized to be Danny's sister.

“Oh, that was just something people got all wrong! She’s not Danny’s sister. But [Ellis George] is incredible; she’s got bags of personality. She’s got a great future ahead of her.”

And Danny's presence on "Doctor Who" is not the only thing fans are wondering about.

Recently, both Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman commented on the rumors surround the actress leaving "Doctor Who" by the season 8 Christmas special.

"I've read she may be leaving at Christmas, but I don't even know if she'll get to Christmas. You've got to just watch and wait and see what happens," said Peter Capaldi on "The One Show."

"What I can say is that she is absolutely fabulous. The work she has done this season is extraordinary because she's called upon to do things that I don't think any other companion has had to do. To show a kind of emotional range and she's done it absolutely brilliantly. But tune in and see what happens."

Jenna Coleman, in speaking with "This Morning," was equally cryptic about Clara leaving "Doctor Who" season 8.

"The truth is I don't want to tell you the truth because I quite like these rumors," said Coleman. "I think it's really interesting because suddenly people don't know what is going to happen with the series, people don't have any idea. So this speculation is quite good. I think people can now watch the show not knowing if I am or not and I think that is quite exciting."
