Unofficial 2014 Fall Anime Guide: ‘Psycho-Pass 2’, ‘Fate/Stay Night’, And ‘Yowamushi Pedal’ Voted Top 3 Most Anticipated Upcoming Anime By Fans

As summer comes to a close, anime fans may be looking for what to watch in the upcoming fall season. So far it looks like it's a battle of the second seasons as the top three most anticipated upcoming anime releases are all sophomore efforts. Over 10,000 fans voted and have named "Psycho-Pass 2" the number one most anticipated anime airing this fall. It's closely followed by "Fate/Stay Night" and then finally season two of "Yowamushi Pedal."

"Psycho-Pass 2" comes in first place on Anime News Network's coverage of Charapedia's survey of 10,000 anime fans. Funimation calls "Psycho-Pass" a "hardboiled, gun-slinging sci-fi series from the creator of ‘Madoka Magica' and the studio that brought you ‘Ghost in the Shell'." Spoilers for Season 2 (which is to be followed by a full length feature film in the winter) have been scarce, but based on the teaser photo of the iconic gun that was released earlier this year, one could guess that the new season won't let fans down. It's set to air this October in Japan.

While "Fate/Stay Night" is technically not a second season, it is a secondary revamping of sorts. The original anime was released back in 2006 and now the newest version will follow the Unlimited Blade Works plot that the previous feature length film followed. Also, Anime News Network reported earlier this year that, "Atsushi Ikariya,Tomonori Sudou, and Hisayuki Tabata will be adapting Takashi Takeuchi's original character designs." "Fate/Stay Night" will air half of its season this October and then return for the second half in April of 2015.

"Yowamushi Pedal" season two or "Yowamushi Pedal GRANDE ROAD" is the third most anticipated anime of this upcoming fall season. According to My Anime List, the series follows Otaku Sakamichi Onoda, who gets thrust out of his seclusive anime and game driven life when he joins the bicycle racing club at school. "Grande Road" will debut this October in Japan. Given how Crunchyroll simulcast the first season for North America, fans can probably expect a repeat of this although there has yet to be any official announcement.

The most anticipated anime of this fall as voted by fans was also broken down by gender (as shonen and shojo fans don't always agree) for those interested in what their particular gender group will be watching this fall. Nevertheless, it looks like October is going to be one exciting month for anime fans across the globe.
