Two of the best and upcoming Samsung phones for 2014 have already been announced, and they include the Galaxy Alpha and the Galaxy Note 4, which would both battle it out against Apple's iPhones later this year.

However, let's not forget that the Korean tech giant has also launched its flagship device for the Galaxy S series, and with it comes a handful of versions which include the Galaxy K Zoom, S5 Active, and S5 mini.

As for the rugged Galaxy S5 Active, a new report claims that the device will finally see the light of day in Europe.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered handset will be priced at €625 and should hit the European market by October, that is considering that the device is exclusive for six months for AT&T in the US.

The Galaxy S5 Active shares almost identical specs to the Galaxy S5 flagship which includes a 5.1-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz, and 16GB of internal memory with a microSD card slot for expansion.

Also on board is the Galaxy S5's 16MP primary camera and a 2.1MP front cam, as well as Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box.

In addition, the Galaxy S5 Active boasts some robust features such as IP67-rating which provides better resistance. It also comes with military-grade MIL-STD-810G certification which would protect it against salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock.
