Nexus 7 Release Date: 7" Google Slate Joining Nexus 6 And 9? Tipped To Be Made By LG

The Nexus 7 release date may not be the most popular of all upcoming devices from Google, but that's just because it has not been featured in as many rumors as its two siblings, the Nexus 6 by Motorola, and the Nexus 9 by HTC.

However, in a report by GSM Arena, it looks like Google has been working on an improved Nexus 7 tablet after all, courtesy of LG.

In the report, a leaked document has surfaced and it is from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the government agency which screens and tests upcoming devices which would make their way in the US.

In the document, we can't say nothing more aside from the fact that the device is from Google and developed in its local address in California, it is a 7-inch tablet, and it was sent for testing from July 18 until August 27.

August 27 is just a couple of weeks ago, which could mean that the device is almost ready for launch right now. LG and Google may just be ironing some wrinkles in the device or with how it works with Android L (Lollipop) on board.

This year has been a special year for Google, which has chosen new manufacturers for its respective Nexus devices. Motorola has been tapped to work on the Nexus X, (Nexus 6) smartphone which has been codenamed as Shamu.

Meanwhile, HTC has been working on a 8.9-inch slate, which is the first of its kind in the Nexus lineup, and it would reportedly pack NVIDIA's Tegra K1 chipset. Now, Google has taken the assignment of the Nexus 7 from ASUS to LG.

Google's upcoming launch for Android L, and all these Nexus devices is certainly exciting.
