FIBA World Cup 2014: USA Demolishes Slovania, Moves On To Semi-Finals, Rose Finally Gets His Game Going

FIBA World Cup 2014: The USA national team continues it hot streak at this year's world championship, as it banked on a huge third quarter run to bury Slovenia, 119-76, in their quarter-finals match-up.

For the first time in the tournament, point guard Derrick Rose got his game going after logging 12 points, his first time he notched double figures in the entire tournament. The floor general added 5 assists to involve his teammates in scoring.

Team USA got off to a slow start once more where they allowed Slovenia to get the lead midway to the first quarter. Fortunately, shooting guard Klay Thompson led a 7-point run to tip the scales in Team USA's favor before the quarter ended.

Still, Slovenia kept within striking distance by the end of the first half.

However, Team USA shifted their gears and went on to a 8-o spurt to start the second half, primarily due to Thompson's hot shooting.

Anthony Davis provided the additional spark in the paint together with Kenneth Faried who totaled 27 points and 21 rebounds.

Seven players were in double figures for Team USA, and all of its 12 players were able to score.

On Slovenia's side, the brothers Goran and Zoran Dragic were the only sparkplugs as they posted 13 and 11 points respectively.

Team USA will face Lithuania on Thursday for the semi-final round to where they will fight for the first spot of the tournament's finals.
