Resident Evil Revelations 2 Updates: New Gameplay Photos Released, Weekly Episodes Of Gameplay To Be Released Digitally

The popular survival horror franchise "Resident Evil" continues to garner interest as Capcom announced some more details about its newest game "Resident Evil: Revelations 2." Via the official Facebook, some new photos of Claire Redfield in action were released. It was also revealed that when the game arrives next year, it will be broken up into digital episodes and released weekly before the full disc version of the game is available.

IGN reports, "Resident Evil Revelations 2 will initially be released as an episodic experience.
The campaign will be broken into four episodes that will come out at weekly intervals. According to the press release, each one will contain 'hours' of gameplay and will take of its serialised format by using 'dramatic cliffhangers'. They go one to explain that following the final episode release, a full disc version of the game will become available with additional game content to create a fuller game experience.

Early fan reactions to this announcement have not been that favorable. One commenter on IGN explains, "Ok... any high expectations I had for this game have been shot down almost instantly upon reading this article... now its just another fragmented, DLC fiasco designed to penny the S#it out of you. As if making Breath of Fire 6 a mobile game wasn't bad enough... Next it will be that you have to buy each street fighter character and their special moves separately... at this point I really don't care if capcom doesn't exist anymore."

Some fans who aren't opposed to the release have simply resigned to wait for the full disc version of the game. These same fans expressed excitement over the newest photos uploaded to the official Resident Evil Facebook. The new photos in particular feature the new enemy, the "Afflicted" as well as Claire Redfield in combat action.

Whether fans are displeased or indifferent about the way the game will be released, there's still a long wait for the actual release date, which is scheduled for sometime next year. Until then, they can look for more information about the game at the 2014 Tokyo Game Show, where Sony will have the game available for demo.
