iTunes 12 Beta Release Date: Updated Preview Version Of Apple Music Platform Unveiled; New Iteration Intends To Correct Earlier User Issues

iTunes 12 beta release date: The new preview version of the latest iTunes or the iTunes 12 beta is now ready for download. Apple released a new iTunes 12 beta ahead of the OS X 10.10 Yosemite OS, which seemingly aims to address earlier issues broached by users when trying to install the iOS 8 GM, Apple Insider reports.

According to the Apple-focused news site, developers and users who opted in to the OS X 10.10 Yosemite beta can download the new iTunes 12 build. The new iteration appears to only have minor tweaks. Notes on the software’s release show that it remains unchanged from the previous version.

The iTunes 12 build brings a refreshed design on the music platform, which is reportedly now being used by more than 500 million users. According to MacRumors, new features of the latest iTunes version include an improved playlist, new icon, and a redesigned Info Window.

The latest iTunes 12 was first introduced in July during Apple’s WWDC conference when the company also announced the successor of the OS X Mavericks, the OS X Yosemite, and the iOS 8.

Apple has announced on its September 9 event, where the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Watch and Apple Pay were launched, that the company will be launching U2’s latest album “Songs of Innocence” for free on iTunes.

“Apple is gifting ‘Songs of Innocence’ to iTunes Store account holders. Customers who sign up for an iTunes Store account in the next five weeks will get the album as a gift. ‘Songs of Innocence’ is also available to stream via iTunes Radioâ„  and will be available on Beats Music,â„ ” Apple says in its statement about the digital album launch.

iTunes is the premiere platform for media in the Apple ecosystem. It first debuted in January 9, 2001 and runs on Windows XP SP3 or later and OSX 10.6.8 or later.
