Katy Perry Taylor Swift Feud: `Bad Blood’ Among Pop Artists Lead to Accusations of Theft, But Swift Reportedly Fired Katy Perry Dancers; Not About John Mayer [VIDEO]

Katy Perry Taylor Swift Feud: Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are in the middle of what looks like a media-created feud over a quote Swift made in Rolling Stone magazine. Since the Taylor interview has been excerpted, a media frenzy has erupted speculating whether the Swift's song "Bad Blood" is aimed at Katy Perry.

If Taylor Swift's Bad Blood song is about Katy Perry, is follows a tradition that goes back to The Beatles breakup, when John Lennon used his resentment to blast former songwriting partner Paul McCartney in "How Do You Sleep" off Lennon's Imagine album. Lennon added insult to injury by bringing George Harrison on slide guitar.

The Taylor Swift and Katy Perry feud seems to be professional, most media reporting that it's about dancers. Of course, now the media is playing out their own drama that says Swift hates Perry for dating John Mayer. Swift has already taken aim at the blues guitarist in songs that squarely hit the charts.

The quote from Rolling Stone says "The angriest song on 1989 is called 'Bad Blood,' and it's about another female artist Swift declines to name. 'For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,' she says. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?' Then last year, the other star crossed a line. 'She did something so horrible,' Swift says. 'I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business."

Not about a guy, she said, blowing the John Mayer speculation out of the water.

The "Shake It Off" singer goes on to say "She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational - you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it.'"

Katy Perry hired three of Taylor's dancers for her live show before Swift's Fearless tour was finished. The dancers had already worked with Perry on her Teenage Dream tour and reports say they gave notice.

According to TMZ, the dancers gave Taylor 30 days but the once and future country singer fired them.

Perry just made a subtle dig at the whole thing on Twitter, tweeting a warning about "Regina George in sheep's clothing."
