Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Spoilers: Ellen Pompeo Quitting Acting, Plus Meredith Flashbacks Featuring Ellis Grey

"Grey's Anatomy" season 11 is nearly upon us, and spoilers on the future of the series as well as its star lead have surfaced.

During a recent interview at the Buzzfeed Brews event, Ellen Pompeo discussed what "Grey's Anatomy" season 11 might bring.

"We can't move to DC because Meredith would find out her mother is alive and she would be pissed!" teased Pompeo according to E! Online.

During the event, Ellen Pompeo also provided spoilers on the much talked about flashbacks in "Grey's Anatomy" season 11, which will bring back Ellis Grey.

"We are doing a lot of flashback stuff. Very challenging… A lot of people say how can you stay on a show 11 years. After 11 seasons you have to stay so alive and present. You can't disappoint the audience. You have to bring it."

And if she were to give advice to Meredith Grey?

"Mind your own business! She's always in other people's business!"

Pompeo also gushed about Shonda Rhimes, the creator of "Grey's Anatomy," on her work to tear down race barriers.

"It's been incredible to be a part of the change," said Pompeo. "Thank god for Shonda Rhimes. As a white person, I'm so embarrassed for—I get really emotional about this stuff—but we have a lot to be shameful for. We can only hope and do everything we can to continue to make strides because we've done a tremendous amount of damage to people. And I've seen it first-hand. We're going to be paying this debt off forever as far as I'm concerned. There's no amount of retribution that's enough in my eyes. And that goes for everything: Asian, Latino, everything."

Even so, Ellen Pompeo believes that her acting career will be over once "Grey's Anatomy" finishes after season 11.

"I definitely don't have a strong desire to act after 'Grey's.'"

"I definitely feel myself transitioning. I don't find acting terribly empowering. For the place I am in my life, I think my age, once I hit 40, I feel differently. I don't necessarily want to work for other people."
