[VIDEO] ‘Super Smash Bros. 3DS’ New Characters Leaked? Duck Hunt Dog Confirmed? North American Release Date Set For October 3rd

Yesterday Nintendo announced that the official release date for Super Smash Bros. 3DS will be October 3rd. Almost immediately, even though the company has yet to release it's official character roster, an alleged live stream of the game began to circulate across gaming sites. The live stream has apparently revealed a host of new suspected characters, including Duck Hunt Dog.

"DUCK HUNT DOG HYPE" says Patricia Hernandez on the Kotaku coverage of an alleged live stream of Super Smash Bros. 3DS, ahead of its officially announced Nintendo sponsored Friday stream.

Kotaku states, "Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS isn't technically out yet in Japan...but some folks managed to get the game ahead of time anyway. And they're finding stuff that seems to prove the previous leak true." Among the characters that were unlocked in this unauthorized live stream were Ness, Falco, and Dark/Black Pit. The character that has fans buzzing with nostalgia is Duck Hunt Dog.

Gamespot has compiled a full list of unlocked characters from the unofficial live stream and also report that, "eagle-eyed Smash Bros fans watching the stream have noted a lack of copyright information regarding Konami properties - a strong suggestion, though not confirmation, that Solid Snake will be absent from the game."

According to Joystiq, Nintendo is set to premiere their own live stream September 12th that includes official gameplay from "Super Smash Bros. 3DS." Fans of the popular Nintendo character fighting game will be able to confirm the supposed early leaks and today's live stream in the upcoming days. Some people however worry there may be consequences for all of the gamers responsible for the gameplay leaks.

Here's hoping that Duck Hunt Dog is previewed tomorrow by Nintendo officially. Until then, Nintendo fans can check out some video from the live stream below. Also, given the upcoming 2014 Tokyo Game show, perhaps Nintendo may finally announce the Wii U release date for "Super Smash Bros."
