[VIDEO] “Sailor Moon Crystal” Blu-ray Digest Video Released: Side By Side Comparison Reveals Blu-ray Better Quality, Can U.S. Fans Expect Release Before 2015?

After a rather exciting weekend for Sailor Moon fans complete with a live-stream celebration and all new episode of "Sailor Moon Crystal," it looks like there's only more magical girl action to come. Today, a new Blu-ray digest was released for "Sailor Moon Crystal," that revealed high resolution beauty of Act 1 and Act 2. With no official U.S. release date announced, can North American fans expect access to the Blu-ray box set before 2015?

"VIZ has the rights to this edited version, right? So when they bring it over, state-side, that's what we'll get... RIGHT?" states Draw2Much on Crunchyroll's announcement of the new "Sailor Moon Crystal" Blu-ray digest that was released today. It's a legitimate concern, that probably continues to grow as more side by side comparison reveals that the new Blu-ray version looks marvelous.

According to Anime News Network, "The Blu-ray will include the first two episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal, clean versions of the opening and ending themes, audio commentary from voice actors Kotono Mitsuishi (Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon) and Kenji Nojima (Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask), director Munehisa Sakai, and supervisor Fumio Osano for the two episodes. Momoiro Clover Z, who performed both the opening and ending theme for the show, and Munehisa Sakai will have their own separate audio commentary, but only for the first episode."

In addition to all of this amazing content, the deluxe edition of the Blu-ray will include a moon stick charm, 28-page booklet, and Guardian specific jacket covers. It only makes sense that U.S. fans are concerned if they'll also be getting the box-set that's due out in Japan on October 15th. The chances look good as Viz already licensed the original "Sailor Moon" series with their own revamped English dub. Assuming that sales are doing well, they'd probably want to follow the end of season one of "Sailor Moon Crystal," which should be before the years end.

Although there has been no official release date, fans can perhaps hope for the release in the U.S. due to the already created sales page on Blu-ray.com. Nevertheless, "Sailor Moon Crystal" will continue to be available for stream on Hulu and Crunchyroll for the duration of the simulcast.
