Derrick Rose News: Rose: 'I Know I'm Great', After His Best Game At FIBA World Cup 2014

The latest Derrick Rose news will certainly bring a smile on Bulls fans' faces.

After struggling for most of the FIBA World Cup 2014 in Spain, Derrick Rose finally got his groove going in Team USA's rout of Slovenia on Tuesday.

The 2011 MVP scored 12 points and dished out 5 assists in the game.

According to the report by ESPN's Marc Stein, Rose said that coach Mike Krzyzewski gave him the go signal to play as he is, and not focus on being a 'team player'.

"He just told me to go out there and play the way I normally play, don't worry about getting guys into the game. The way that I play, guys find a way to play around me, so tonight just try to be aggressive and try to keep it going."

After the game, Rose also showed how much confidence he has not just by his best numbers in the tournament thus far, but also in these bold words. " I know that I have it. I know what type of player I am. I know I'm great."

Rose has been sidelined for almost two entire seasons because of a pair of knee injuries which are attributed to his explosive type of play. Another NBA player who has a similar gameplay may be Dwyane Wade in his early 20s, when he was wrecking havoc of defenses and scoring at will for Miami.

Right now, Wade's health is declining and he's just 33 years old. That's how early Rose could retire if he continues the same kind of play in the seasons to come. The only advantage Wade has over Rose right now is he was able to bring a championship for Miami when he was still the main man in South Beach.

Now that Rose is slowly getting into the groove, the Chicago Bulls are surely hoping for an injury-less season for their MVP in order to further their team's hopes of advancing deep in the Playoffs, and even squaring off against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

For now, we just have to watch how Rose continues to improve his play at the culmination of this year's FIBA World Cup.
