Mel Brooks Gives Hollywood The Finger At Walk of Fame Ceremony [VIDEO]

Mel Brooks is nothing if not original. The 88-year-old comedian is also a confirmed noodge who's output has ranged from the deeply affecting film "The Elephant Man," which he produced, to the most disrespectful of comedies, like "Blazing Saddles," which he wrote with Richard Pryor, or "Young Frankenstein," which is celebrating its 40th birthday.

On Monday, Mel Brooks again mixed comedy with horror as he gave the finger to Hollywood's elite with a handprint straight out of Chiller Theater.

For his Walk of Fame Handprint, Mel Brooks left an 11-finger impression in cement outside Hollywood's Chinese Theatre.

Brooks wore a prosthetic sixth finger on one hand while pressing his feet and hands into cement while  celebrating the 40th anniversary of his Oscar-nominated film, 'Young Frankenstein.'

Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner attended the Mel Brooks hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre on September 8, 2014 in Hollywood, California. Mel's son Max Brooks told the crowd "About time, huh?"  Comedians never get their fair share of recognition in Hollywood. How often does a comedy get best movie of the year?"

Brooks, who also wrote, directed and produced "Spaceballs," "The Producers" and "History of the World, Part I," told the assembled fans at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Monday "Ladies and gentlemen, I want to thank you all for being here and being part of the wonderful charade. I really love it."

Afterwards, Mel Brooks took to Twitter to admit "I desperately need to wash my hands."

"Hands are clean but the shoes will never be the same. Now I'm off to tape @ConanOBrien tonight! #teamcoco," he later added.

After cleaning the cement, Brooks appeared on Conan to explain "I wanted to do something just a little different, I didn't know what. So I got another finger. Somebody's gonna come in from Des Moines, Iowa and say, 'Mother... Does Mel Brooks have six fingers?'"

Brooks' 1974 film, "Young Frankenstein," which starred Gene Wilder, is ranked number 13 on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 funniest films.

Brooks joins the recently concreted Robert DeNiro, Jackie Chan, Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Ben Stiller, Jennifer Anniston, Jane Fonda, and Jerry Lewis.
