Nicole Kidman's Father Dr. Antony Kidman Is Dead; Nicole and Keith Urban Are Devastated And Heading Back To Australia To Be With Family [PHOTO]

The New York Daily News reports that Dr. Antony Kidman, father of actress Nicole Kidman and an accomplished psychologist, died this past Friday morning in Singapore. His death was due to an apparent heart attack after his morning exercise. He was 75.

Dr. Kidman was a clinical psychologist at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia. According to the New York Daily News, he was meeting his daughter (and Nicole's younger sister) Antonia at the Tanglin Club in Singapore, where he took a fall. Afterwards, he completed his daily exercise routine and entered the club's Wheelhouse restaurant. It was there that he collapsed.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force confirmed that they received a call requesting medical assistance at 8:10am. By the time paramedics arrived, people in the restaurant were already performing CPR on Kidman. However, it was too late - he was pronounced dead at a local hospital minutes later. A police spokesman stated that they are "investigating the unnatural death."

Kidman's rep told ABC News, "Nicole and her family are in shock by the sudden death of her father...she appreciates the outpouring of support and kindly requests privacy during this very difficult time. Thank you."

Nicole's husband, Keith Urban, has spoken out about the loss. According to People, Urban was supposed to perform at the Washington State Fair this past Saturday, but had to cancel his plans. "I'm so very sorry that I cannot perform this weekend. We are in a deep state of grief following the passing of Nic's father," he tweeted.

Urban wrote on Facebook, "[We] are heading back to Australia to be with family. We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their love, prayers, and support through this devastating loss," conveying his gratitude to his followers and detailing his and Nicole's trip back to Australia.
