Kanye West Humiliates Handicapped Fans: Yells at Wheelchair-Bound Concertgoer to Stand Up; Stops Yeezus Concert in Sydney to Make Demands [PHOTO]
The Daily Beast reports that rapper Kanye West stopped his Yeezus concert in Sydney this past Friday in order to call out a pair of fans for not standing up at the show. What he failed to realize was that both fans were disabled - one was in a wheelchair, and the other was handicapped with a prosthetic limb.
According to Radar, West absolutely refused to continue performing at Sydney's Quanta Credit Union Arena, humiliating the fans. He said, "I can't do this show until everybody stands up...Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and sh*t. I'mma see you if you ain't standing up, believe me, I'm very good at that," conveying his disapproval towards his fans. When one fan held up a prosthetic limb, West told the fan as "Okay, you fine."
Later in the concert, West made his second mistake. When playing his song "Good Life," he spotted another fan in the audience that was not standing up. He stopped performing once more, stating, "This is the longest I've had to wait to do a song, it's unbelievable," highlighting his anger.
West sent bodyguard Pascal Duvier into the stands in order to see if the fan was really in a wheelchair. The Daily Mail reports that the crowd was yelling that the fan was indeed handicapped, and made "wheelchair motions" to alert the singer. However, he only continued his performance once the handicap was confirmed. West allegedly said, "He is in a wheelchair? It's fine!"
Many fans tweeted their disapproval after the concert. One fan, kimmie24, wrote, "I know Kanye West likes to think he's Jesus, but telling a wheelchair bound kid to stand up and dance won't help him." Another wrote, "Just remembered Kanye telling 2 kids in a wheelchair to stand up for an uncomfortably long amount of time. That sucked."
Radar reports that West, wife Kim Kardashian, and daughter North are traveling together for ten days of concerts all over the country.
