Miley Cyrus Led Zeppelin Cover of `Babe I’m Gonna Leave You’ Gets Mixed Reaction As The Pop Star Continues to Explore Rock [VIDEO]
Miley Cyrus Led Zeppelin Cover: Miley Cyrus, the pop star daughter of county star Billy Ray Cyrus, has been getting a little more rock and roll lately. Miley Cyrus has been channeling inner rock star since she fronted the rock band Flaming Lips for a cover of the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.
Miley Cyrus latest cover on her Bangerz Tour is "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You," which was written by Anne Bredon and made famous by Led Zeppelin.
Cyrus put the song up on Soundcloud and took to Twitter to share the link with her fans. So far there is no word on an official release of the song.
For the most part, Miley's rendition is faithful to the Robert Plant vocals. Led Zeppelin recorded their version of "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You," on their eponymous debut album from 1969.
The song was also recorded by Joan Baez in 1962.
Miley Cyrus who recently won Video of the Year for "Wrecking Ball" at the MTV VMAs.
Cyrus has also covered Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide;" the Smiths' "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" and the Arctic Monkeys' "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?"
Not everyone is thrilled with Miley's version. One of the comments says "24 seconds. I made it to 24 seconds."
