X-Men Apocalypse Cast Cyclops, Jean Grey, And Storm Out As New Generations Of Actors Are Set To Replace Them! Who Are The Likely Candidates?

Bryan Singer would still direct the fourth instalment of the Marvel superheroes, X-Men: Apocalypse. What started out as a rumour is now confirmed, Fox has just closed a deal with the same director of the X-Men's other movies. This will be Singer's fourth movie in the franchise. It was Singer who also directed X-Men (2000), X-Men: First Class (2011) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).

There are speculations that, aside from Singer, other characters would also be back in this upcoming Marvel movie. Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops will also appear in the "Apocalypse" but this time, the three characters will have a younger version contrary to what we are used to in the past X-Men movies.

In an interview with Yahoo! Last Monday, Simon Kinberg, writer and producer of X-Men: Apocalypse said, "The X-Men film that we're working on now as everybody knows is X-Men: Apocalypse and that really follows the stories of the let's say 'First Class' X-Men. Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, many others of that generation of X-Men."

As of writing, younger version of the mutant characters are yet to be cast. Kinberg added, "If we included some of the original X-Men like Storm, Jean, Scott and others, yeah we would have to recast them, because Apocalypse takes place a good twenty years before X1, which now insanely was fifteen years ago."

Kinberg also admitted that it would be really hard to recast the characters especially now that the actors have already identified with the characters they are portraying with. "It would be very hard to do. Halle, Farmke and Jimmy and others have done such wonderful jobs of bringing those characters to life and they're so identified, those actors, with the parts now."

X-Men: Apocalypse is slated to be on the big screen on May 2016.
