‘Prometheus 2’ Updates: Director Ridley Scott Says ‘Prometheus’ Sequel Won’t Have Xenomorphs, Michael Fassbender As Android David To Get His Head Back Through Engineers?

The gruesome and slimy green-black creatures one can easily call to memory as the representation of "Aliens" will unfortunately be retiring from their acting careers. Director Ridley Scott announced today (among other updates) that the xenomorphs would not be coming back for "Prometheus 2." The award winning director also explained that as far as he knows, fans will find out how android David (played by Michael Fassbender) gets his head back in the highly anticipated follow up to "Prometheus."

In a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies Ridley Scott said, "The beast is done. Cooked. I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It's very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it's obscene. They didn't want to do it and I said, ‘I want to do it, it's fantastic'. But after four, I think it wears out a little bit. There's only so much snarling you can do."

Yahoo! Movies notes that he has conveniently forgotten the "Alien v Predator" franchise. Scott, who is wrapping up post-production on "Exodus: Gods and Kings" among many other projects, went on to say that there's been 15 drafts of "Prometheus 2" so far. Screen Rant supposes this is a good thing because it implies that the writers are hard at work to make sure the new script doesn't have the heavily criticized problems of the shooting draft crafted for "Prometheus."

There's no production schedule set for the project, but one could guess it won't be for a while as Scott has both "Bladerunner 2" and "The Martian" going at this time. But the director did hint about one thing fans could expect in the upcoming sequel: the return of android David's head.

Scott stated that audiences would, "find out how he gets his head back on," when asked for some plot spoilers. Since the Xenomorphs won't be coming back, does it mean the Engineers will be responsible for getting his head back on? That might make for an interesting plot twist given android David's lack of loyalty to either them or the humans.

Nevertheless, until a release date or more spoilers are released for "Prometheus 2," fans of Scott's directing will have to settle for the classic biblical tale of Moses, "Exodus: Gods and Kings," due out on December 26th.
