"Arrow" season 3 spoilers show that Oliver is preparing to face "the big bad guy" as Thea sets out for a new life.

Michael Ausiello wrote "Arrow" season 3 spoilers for TVLine  in reply to the question by a fan of who will be the "big bad" for the upcoming episodes.

"The Big Bad is this guy - the iconic DC Comics villain Ra's al Ghul, just recently cast with Aussie Matt Nable. And though the League of Assassins leader is first seen in Episode 4, it will take a bit before he and Arrow butt heads, swords or what have you," he wrote.

Executive producer Greg Berlanti confirmed what Ausiello wrote as he told TVLine: "Before the winter break, which would be Episode 9, you'll see some big stuff with him and Oliver."

"In the aftermath of victory, Season Three opens with Arrow now a hero to the citizens of Starling. Crime is down, people feel safer, and Captain Lance even calls off the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. Basking in his success, Oliver believes he can finally have a private life and asks Felicity out on a date. But the second Oliver takes his eye off the ball, a deadly villain reappears in Starling, forcing Oliver to realize that he can never be Oliver Queen - not as long as the city needs The Arrow."

Meanwhile, Screen Crush reported more "Arrow" season 3 spoilers as it said that Thea will assume a new life under the identity "Thea Merlyn," even as Oliver will struggle with how to juggle his vigilante alter-ego with his businessman persona.

There's also the fact that his company is under attack from Ray Palmer, played by "Superman Returns" star Brandon Routh, who it turns out will also fight Oliver for Felicity's heart.
