Lindsay Lohan Forgets The Lines During ‘Speed-The-Plow’ West End Debut: ‘Mean Girls’ Actress Still Hoping To Remind The World Of Her Artistic Talent?

Opening night is always the most nerve-racking. Lindsay Lohan made her highly-anticipated West End debut on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in David Mamet's play "Speed-the-Plow."

However, it appears the actress couldn't quite remember all of her lines.

In a review by the Daily Beast, it was revealed that Lohan turned on the charm for the theatre audience but wrestled with keeping her lines straight during the performance.

"On the first night of previews, a work-in-progress feel is to be expected. But halfway through the second act of Speed-the-Plow, the audience was openly laughing at Lohan's struggle to grasp Mamet's sharp, trademark dialogue," wrote Nico Hines. However, the reviewer later added that "Lohan remained charming throughout."

According to E! News, Lohan was fed several lines throughout the evening.

During rehersals, Lohan did admit that remembering all of her lines was proving to be a challenge. The "Mean Girls" actress told The Telegraph just that in an interview published on Sept. 13.

"You know, when you think about it, I was doing other things before this, and I was travelling, and I come back and I'm looking at this thing and I'm like: "Oh f***." The whole of Act Two, I just speak throughout the whole thing," said Lohan.

Nevertheless, the starlet explained that tackling the role of Karen in the play is exciting.

"It feels really cool," she continued. "It feels really good. It does. It's... terrifying, at times. Because in the beginning I, like, panicked. I was like: Oh my f***, I can't say all this s***."

Lohan also added that she hopes her new project will help repair her professional image, which was damaged after a few run-ins with the law.

"I like the idea of being able to fight for what I lost, essentially," said Lohan. "I lost a lot of... I wouldn't say... I don't think 'respect' is the word... trust from a lot of people. And I don't mind gaining that back."

Wednesday's preview performance was just the first for the "Speed-the-Plow" revival, which is being directed by Lindsay Posner and also stars Nigel Lindsay and Richard Schiff.

The play officially opens on Oct. 2 for a limited run which concludes on Nov. 29.
