‘True Detective’ Is Eyeing Rachel McAdams As Female Lead And Its Almost A Done Deal, Reports Say

Another movie star is leaping into a television series, this time Rachel McAdams of 'The Notebook' has been reportedly offered to be part of the hit television show 'True Detective' Season 2.

According to Celebrity Café and other Internet media news, McAdams addition to the show is almost a done deal.

The reports added that all that needs to be done is to iron out the actress schedule that would fit to the filming of the HBO series.

If all went on smoothly, McAdams will be joining Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn for the second season. Colin and Vince's entry into the series was earlier announced.

 According to the RachelMcAdams Online, the actress also just started filming her movie 'Spotlight,' the movie is about the Boston Globe's investigative piece on the child molestation scandal by the local Catholic Church.

Reports said that the 'True Detective' filming would have to be scheduled around the 'Spotlight' so McAdams can play the cop's role in the upcoming series.

McAdams, the reports stated have always been the favorite pick to play the female lead with Colin and Vince. Another Canadian actor name is floating as the fourth lead in the series, Taylor Kitsch.

The First Season starred award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. True Detective's format was to feature different cast and story every season. The second part of the hit series will be eight episodes and by Justin Lin and is expected to premier summer of 2015.

Season 1 was well received, with both Matthew and Woody nominated for Outstanding Lead Actors in a Drama Series. The movie also was nominated for Outstanding Drama this year.

It was also highly acclaimed by critics and the second season is much -anticipated with Colin as one of the lead actors.

In an earlier interview with Irish Sunday World, Colin was quoted as being excited over the new project and its location, California.

"I'm doing the second series. I'm so excited I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot. I know very little about it, but we're shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids," he stated.
