Victoria Beckham Named UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador, Leading Fashion Designer Aims To Empower Women And Children Affected By HIV
The leading fashion designer Victoria Beckham named as UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador.
In the report of Inquirer, the announcement of Victoria Beckham as UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador was held in New York at the 69th United Nations General Assembly on September 25.
According to the report of The Independent, Victoria Beckham commits to promote the awareness of AIDS and help those affected by the said disease.
"This is the beginning of an important journey for me. As a woman and a mother I have a responsibility to support other women," said Beckham in the report of the Inquirer.
"I am proud and honored to be working with UNAIDS in this new role to help to raise resources and awareness to support and empower women and children affected by HIV," she added.
In the report of The Independent, Victoria Beckham on February visited an HIV clinics in Cape Town, South Africa, where she learned the value of antiretroviral therapy and the children who have not given the treatment they needed.
"It really was a life-changing experience, I've never experienced anything like it," said Beckham in the report of the Independent.
Furthermore, the fashion designer Victoria Beckham named as UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador posted on her Twitter account what she aims to achieve with the said cause.
"As a woman & a mother I want to make change happen and support the @UNAIDS vision. Together we can end the #AIDS epidemic."
The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) aims to have a zero new HIV infections, zero discrimination and zero AIDS-related deaths.
