Gone Girl Film Kicks Off The New York Film Festival On Friday As The Fox Drama Opens On October 2014!

Until its world premiere on Friday night as opening night selection of the N.Y Fiml Festival, many of its co-stars had not seen 'Gone Girl'. Casey Wilson, who plays Noelle's neighbor asked a Variety reporter, "How did you get to see it before me?"

Fans waited outside Lincoln Center to get a glimpse of Ben Affleck. Ben plays the character accused of murdering his wife after she goes missing on their fifth wedding anniversary. The limelight however belonged his Ben's on-screen partner 35-year-old Rosamund Pike. After years of supporting roles ("An Education," "Jack Reacher"), this is Rosamund's first starring part in a movie. Fincher did not attend the press line but later appeared with his cast including Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry.

When asked about making a comeback to acting after directing "Argo"the Academy Award winner said,  "I got to the point where I don't want to act unless it's with a director that I really respect," Affleck explained. "It's a really nice relief when they'd say cut and I could go back to my trailer."

Ben said that he learned a few lessons about directing from Fincher. "You come up against resistance in any job you have," he continued, "The truth is, David just doesn't give a fuck. He's like, 'No, this is what we're going to do.' As it turns out, if you insist what you want enough, it can happen. It amazed me, because I'd always been polite. From now on, I'm not going to take no for an answer."

Tyler Perry who plays the role Tanner Bolt, the defense attorney, said he had not read the Gillian Flynn best-selling book on which 'The Girl' is based. Tyler said, "I don't want to until long after the movie is done." He further added that he had no objections with Fincher's technique of lengthy takes of the same scene. He said, "This man is brilliant," he added, "His eyes need to be studied at some science center. He sees the entire picture at once. I realized the takes weren't about the performance necessarily as it about him wanting this perfect tableau."
