Motorola Droid Ultra Specs, Review, Update: Android 4.4.4 KitKat Available For Verizon Exclusive Handset; 2014 Turbo Successor To Be Launched Soon?

Motorola Droid Ultra review, update: The Android 4.4.4 KitKat update is now available for the Verizon-exclusive Motorola Droid Ultra and it’s been reported that the handset may have a successor very soon.

According to GSM Arena, there have been leaked images showing what could be dubbed the Droid Turbo. The handset is said to be coming with a 5.2-inch touchscreen, front-facing speakers, and a dual-LED flash for the main camera.

Launch date for the so-called Droid Turbo could be by year’s end or early 2015. Speculations also suggest that the Droid Turbo may have variants that will mirror the Droid Mini and Droid Maxx offerings.

Skipping the 4.4.3 version of the Android Kitkat, the mobile manufacturer headed straight to the latest Android update. The DROID Maxx, DROID, Ultra, and the DROID Mini are some of the flagship carriers that received the final update.

Other than the DROID series, Motorola also provided updates for the Moto E, Moto G, and Moto X.

Currently, the only devices that run with the final version update of the Android Kitkat OS are the Nexus and Google Play Edition devices.

The Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS will bring improvements in camera and performance as well as the Visual Voicemail. Moreover, the software also offers security-related improvements, and stability fixes.

It was expected that Motorola will be one of the first ones to roll out the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS to their devices. Other devices, such as HTC's M7 and M8, will receive the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS later this month or in August. Other HTC devices will follow suit in September. Other manufacturers have not revealed yet when they will roll out the new Android software.

Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS update requires 285 MB of free space. When installing the software, ensure to have enough battery and strong internet connection as well as enough patience to go with it.

To check if you have received the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS, check the Settings of your phone. Motorola users reported that the software is now available via Over-The-Air update. If you are one of the users who have not received the update, there is no need to worry as the roll out of the update is not at once. Some users may receive the notification over a few days.
