Brooklyn Nets News: Veteran Forward Kevin Garnett: 'I'm Very Much Motivated' Entering 20th NBA Season In Career

It isn't easy surviving in the NBA for 10 years, but if you consider how Kevin Garnett has continued to play with a lot of heart even during his 19th NBA season, that is certainly great news for the Brooklyn Nets. 

Entering his 20th season in the league, the 38-year-old Garnett will only be the fourth player in NBA history to do so, and with what he has done in his career, he isn't someone who needs to prove something anymore. 

But in an interview with ESPN, the veteran forward said that while he has mulled over retiring and thinking of his life outside of the NBA, he ultimately decides against those thoughts. 

"I've always said the days when I'm not feeling basketball again, which is absurd, or when I don't have the motivation to come in here, it's time to move on. But that's not the case. I'm very much motivated. I'm looking to have a better year than last year and I'm looking to enjoy this year." 

Garnett may be coming off the worst season of his career, averagin career lows of only 6.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and only 20 minutes a game, of which he rarely plays stretches of more than six minutes. 

Still, the former Wolves and Celtics player says that he may still be capable of putting up decent numbers with the way he is feeling right now. 

"Right now, I feel great. Right now, without the bumps and bruises, I feel great." 

While Garnett may not be the offensive force he once was, he still remains as the Net's defensive anchor. And with a new coach running the system, we'll expect to see more of the old Garnett in his quest to get to the NBA Finals once more and have a shot at the title.
