One Direction Gets Lonely During 'Where We Are' Tour

One Direction is probably one of the hottest bands in the world right now. Tickets for their third concert tour dubbed "Where We Are" are always sold out within minutes. Due to their busy schedule, the group spends months away from their families and friends...which gets pretty lonely.

The group recently spoke to OK! Magazine on what their life is like on the road. They confessed that rather than staying on their hotel rooms, they preferred to be on the tour bus.

Louis Tomlinson stated: "The tour bus is a little escape, that little back lounge we sit in. Hotel rooms can often be lonely. It's just an easier way to deal with it all."

He added: "'I can't really do 'on my own' time, I have to have someone's attention."

Liam Payne meanwhile says that he misses his family and friends the most while on tour. "'Being away from home is a huge downside of touring. You miss your family and friends."

Another aspect of their lifestyle that proved to be quite problematic was the lack of freedom. No wonder with thousands of screaming fans, and paparazzi left and right watching them like hawks, it's almost impossible to get away from the crowd.

Niall Horan explained: "It can be quite frustrating being stuck in a hotel. I remember in Peru - I got up, went into Louis' room and said, 'Right, what we doing today?' and he goes, 'We should go shopping.' Then we looked out of the window. There were 10,000 people on the street outside our hotel."

Niall recently posted a photo of himself and Liam on Instagram, with the caption: "We're gone mad! This is why we should be able to get out of hotels Hahahah. Aghhhhhhh!!!"

Awww, poor boys! But hey, looks like they were still able to find something to keep them busy:
