Xiaomi MiPad Review Roundup: Specs Of 7.9-inch Tegra K1 Powered & Android-based Tablet Incl. 2.2GHz Processor, 8MP Camera; Great Value For $240

Xiaomi MiPad review roundup: Specs of the Android 4.4-based Xiaomi MiPad, the first mobile device to sport the Tegra K1 processor – considered dthe world’s fastest chipset for mobile, include a 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 display, a 2.2GHz processor, and an 8MP camera. The Xiaomi MiPad has a battery pack of 6700 mAh and is priced at an estimated $240.

CNET decribes the unit in its review as, “A plastic iPad Mini clone with oodles of Android power.” The tech site notes that the interface is “as smooth as butter” and its storage support for up to 128GB via a microSD card allows you to “store all the movies you want without fear of running out of space any time soon.”

In terms of display, the Good Gear Guide of PC World Australia says that “Photos and videos are sharp and the backlight is strong enough to make the tablet useful when out and about.”

The built of the MiPad “feels solid and well put together” says Tech in Asia. The website also noted that the display impresses people who turn on the the screen and “see how crisp and vibrant it is.”

Tech in Asia also noted that “The only quality tablet that matches the iPad on screen and price is the Nexus 7 ($229).” It’s a tall order accomplsihed especially when the Nexus 7 is deemed one of the best Android tablets around.

“Very few compact, affordable tablets end up as solid as this,” writes GSM Arena in their review of the MiPad. But it observes that trying so hard to look like the iPad “doesn’t feel right.”

Battery life for the unit is deemed good, reviewers note, and the tablet overall is fast and responsive and delivers an impressive graphics performance.

Xiaomi has been called out for its products being very similar with Apple, but it seems that the strategy is working. The “Apple of China” blends premium design with low price and a marketing scheme that press attention everytime.
