Rosie O’Donnell And Whoopi Goldberg Get Heated On ‘The View’: Co-Hosts Explode At Each Other In Front Of Audience During Commercial Break

Things got a little tense on the set of "The View" last Thursday when Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg got into a heated argument in front of a studio audience. Although the fight reportedly happened during a commercial break, news of the clash soon made its way to the public.

During a "Hot Topic" segment during Thursday's taping, Goldberg allegedly cut off her co-host O'Donnell, which prompted the argument.

According to the Daily Mail, the subject up for discussion was spanking of children. O'Donnell had allegedly indicated backstage, prior to the taping, that she was very passionate on the topic and wanted to make sure her views were heard.

However, while the co-hosts, who also include Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace, chatted on the subject, Whoopi got a message from the producers of the show that the ladies had to wrap up the discussion because "The View" had to go on a commercial break.

O'Donnell reportedly refuses to wear an ISD monitor in her ear and, as a result, is unable to hear the producers' comments.

The new host then erupted at Goldberg during the break.

'"As soon as they went to commercial break, Rosie took the handheld microphone that they use to engage the audience," a source told the Daily Mail.

"Instead of talking to the crowd, Rosie spoke directly to Whoopi in the mic that she 'hurt my feelings,' and that she was 'very upset by it' and 'didn't appreciate' what Whoopi had done," explained the source.

Goldberg allegedly responded, "This isn't the time for this, Rosie."

O'Donnell did not drop the issue, however.

"Well I just don't appreciate you saying that you were going to do something and not doing it. It makes me upset and I just don't want to have to go through this,' said O'Donnell.

Goldberg once again warned her colleague to refrain from discussing her gripe in front of the audience.

"I said this was not the time Rosie," said Goldberg. But when O'Donnell continued her argument, Goldberg had finally had enough.

"F*** it, I told you to leave it alone and you just don't want to listen. If you want to go there Rosie, I will dammit. I'm really sick of your s***!" the Oscar winner snapped.

"At this point, you could've heard a pin drop. It was like everything came to a standstill and Rosie finally backed down," the source revealed.

The clash apparently halted after Goldberg's outburst.

According to the source, Perez then made a joke to lighten the mood in the room.

"Oh s***, Twitter is going to be off the hook now. They're about to get it," said Perez.
