‘Winds Of Winter’ Release Date Delay Gives Way To Spoilers Prediction; Author George R.R. Martin’s Book May See Death Of Tyrion Lannister And Arya Stark?

"Winds of Winter" release date delay paved the way for spoilers prediction as Tyrion Lannister and Arya Stark might be in danger of getting killed in line with George R.R. Martin's penchant to kill off major characters.

Statistician Richard Vale who used what he calls as Bayesian prediction to find out who will die among the major characters in the book, as the "Winds of Winter" release date is still in limbo.

According to his abstract: "Predictions are made for the number of chapters told from the point of view of each character in the next two novels in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series by fitting a random effects model to a matrix of point-of-view chapters in the earlier novels using Bayesian methods."

In his prediction model, characters who have a low chance of getting chapters include Arya Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Aeron Greyjoy and Melisandre.

"We know for a fact that Arya Stark and Tyrion Lannister both get chapters in Winds of Winter since we've read the 'Mercy' chapter for Arya and we've seen Tyrion's chapter at the 'Battle of Meereen' where he's present with Jorah Mormont and the Second Sons," iDigital Times said.

"Both the characters are fan favorites, which doesn't mean that they're safe, but it does mean that they'll have at least some chapters in 'Winds of Winter' before they get killed off," it added.

The Zap2it blog blamed the "Winds of Winter" release date delay for Richard Vale's mathematical model.

"Considering audiences already know she gets at least one chapter in book 6 and she doesn't die at the end of it, there's hope for her yet," the blog site said. "But this mathematical model seems to be saying there's a good chance she could stop being a POV character before series' end."

"Tyrion Lannister is another character who has a high probability of having few to no chapters in the last two "ASoIaF" books," it added, and although that may surprise some people, it should also be unexpected considering the author's penchant to kill off characters who are fan favorites.
