John Lennon Solo's To Be Heard Via Online Streaming In Spotify; Whole Album Still In Itunes

John Lennon fans can now rejoice as they can hear the legend's solo albums via online streaming in Spotify. This year's addition of the British icon is made as part of Spotify's efforts to increase its hits and compete with other online streaming sites powered by Amazon and Google.

Reports in the Daily Mail said that Spotify included the Imagine singer's eight studio albums and three compilations. The studio albums include Milk And Honey, Plastic Ono Band, Rock 'N' Roll, Imagine, Mind Games, Some Time In New York City, Walls And Bridges and Double Fantasy.

Music lovers can also enjoy songs from John's compilation albums namely: Gimme Some Truth', Signature Box'  and 'Power To The People: The Hits'.

Lennon's songs will join other solo albums by Beatles members Paul McCartney and Ringo Star. George Harrison only has a number of songs found in the streaming site.

On the other hand, the Beatles albums are still exclusively found in iTunes as what is stated previously in an agreement drafted in 2010.

Meanwhile, news sources are remembering the icon's birthday which falls on October 9. This is supposed to be John's 74th birthday had he not been gunned down by a fan Mark David Chapman in Dakota in 1980 when he had just turned 40 years old, years later after he left the Beatles in 1967 to lead a solo career with his wife Yoko Ono in his side.

Lots of activities have been initiated commemorate John's birthday. One of those is the 70th Birthday Anniversary Song Contest facilitated by John's wife Yoko.

Billboard also recalled Lennon's ten songs that have topped the Billboards and posted videos of recent artists who did a cover on each song. Billboard chose seven songs considered as their favorites including "Working Class Hero" performed by the punk-rock band Marilyn Manson, "Imagine" by Lady Gaga, "Mother" by Christina Aguilera, "Gimme Some Truth" by Pearl Jam, "I Found Out" by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, "Jealous Guy" by Roxy Music, Just (Like) and Starting Over" by The Flaming Lips.
