HTC Desire Eye Vs. Xiaomi Mi4: 2 Selfie Android Smartphones, Only One Winner

The HTC Desire Eye has jus been announced, but right now it is considered one of the most sought after smartphones today due to its stellar front camera.

However, the question is whether the new HTC handset is capable of handling the competition when it comes to other high-end Android devices, and even other flagships

One of these rivals for the Desire Eye is the Xiaomi Mi4 which was announced a couple of months ago.

In terms of build quality, both the Xiaomi Mi4 and Desire Eye have points in terms of design. The Desire Eye features a more fun and sporty look with a plain-colored back and front, plus an accented frame. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi4 has a more stylish metal design that minimalists would surely love.

As far as processing power is concerned, the Xiaomi Mi4 is slightly ahead of the Desire Eye with 3GB of RAM. However, for its other specs, both devices pack a Snapdragon 801 chipset, and Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution screen.

The camera department is where the two devices are compared thoroughly. While the HTC Desire Eye has a 13MP primary and front cameras, the Xiaomi Mi4 gets a 13MP/8MP combo which is impressive as well. However, the Duo Camera at the back adds more advantages to the Desire Eye.

So which one would you buy? The more appropriate question is which one can you afford. The HTC Desire Eye has been tipped in a report to be priced somewhere in the neighborhood of $650, while the Xiaomi Mi4 64GB edition costs around $400.

If you are wiling to sacrifice 5MP of front cam and the Duo Camera technology, then the Mi4 is the way to go. However, if you can spare a few more hundred dollars for the said features, then there is no reason why you shouldn't buy the HTC handset.
