The Flash: Robbie Amell As Firestorm Confirmed As Ronnie Raymund Debuts In Episode 3 Of The Show!

Hollywood Reporter has learned, Robie Amell is coming together with executive producer Greg Berlanti for a big recurring role on The CW's The Flash. He will make his debut in the third episode of "The Flash's" freshman season.

Dr. Caitlin Snow's (Danielle Panabaker) fiancé and a maintenance worker at STAR Labs, Ronnie Raymond plays a very important part in the particle accelerator accident that transforms Grant Gustin (Barry Allen) into the Flash.

Berlanti said, "[Executive producers] Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and I designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) - and to actually have someone with Robbie's talent playing the role is beyond exciting. We can't wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out," he further added,  "I'm so excited to join forces with Greg Berlanti and The CW again on The Flash. Being brought into the DC Universe is a dream; I can't wait to get started!"

In the comics, Ronnie was caught in a nuclear accident along with physicist Martin Stein and the event fused them together as the nuclear-powered superhero, Firestorm. As Stein was unconscious during the encounter, Raymond was largely in control of his Firestorm form.

Amell is currently filming indie pic "Max" after recently wrapping production on feature film "The Duff for CBS Films. Amell is represented by Coast to Coast, Protégé Entertainment and WME. 1600 Penn, Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous and Revenge are the other recurring TV credits.

Although Ronnie/Firestorm has made an entrance into numerous animated properties including, Super Friends: The Legendary Superpowers Show, The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, this will be Ronnie/Firestorm's first appearance in a live-action property.

The Flash casting marks an Amell reunion: Stephen, his cousin stars as the title character on Arrow and makes a cameo in The Flash pilot and they briefly shared Wednesday nights on the CW, which was dubbed unofficially #AmellWednesdays.

Amell will join John Wesley Shipp, Rick Cosnett, Tom Cavanagh, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin and Candice Patton in the ensemble.
