‘ABCs Of Death 2’ Release Date: Oscar Nominated Director Bill Plympton Talks Animated Horror Segment ‘Head Games’, ‘The Mighty Boosh’ Julian Barratt Directs ‘B Is For Badger’ Segment

For horror fans who prefer the theatrical experience, they'll have a bit longer to wait for the "ABCs of Death 2" release date, which is currently set for October 31st. Since the horror anthology is already available on VOD however, more directors from the project have been able to share information about their individual segments. Oscar nominated director Bill Plympton shared some freaky details about his idea for "Head Games" and "The Mighty Boosh's" Julian Barratt also talked about his adventures in horror directing.

Cinema Blend recently spoke to Plympton, who is quite esteemed among the animation community for his short films, about his upcoming "ABCs of Death 2" segment, "Head Games."

"It's not so much kissing as it is just kind of violent sexuality with the face - using the face as a war zone. Which is kind of a metaphor for a lot of relationships. I think that's why people respond to it is because this is a deeper kind of analysis of a person's relationships and how they can go bad," said Plympton.

"Head Games" is a chaotic collision of a man and woman's face, set to a thrillingly violent soundtrack. In that way, Plympton's "violent sexuality with the face" description makes perfect sense. The segment is also hand drawn in ballpoint pen and paper, so animation seems to be the perfect medium to express an idea.

Meanwhile, a couple of letters prior to "Head Games" is Julian Barratt's "B is For Badger." "The Might Boosh" actor recently spoke to Nerdist about his adventures in directing a horror film after having a comedy heavy career.

"I think I was always interested in trying to put horror and comedy together so, the short is, it's more of a sketch really, with a gory ending," Barratt said.

With 26 segments in total, horror fans will have much to look forward to this Halloween when "ABCs of Death 2" hits theaters.
