Toy Story New TV Special In The Works As Pixar Announced Release Date On December 2014 On ABC! Are Fans Ready To See Woody, Buzz And The Gang Once Again?

2014 have been quiet disappointing as far as fans of Pixar are concerned, as the year marked the first time since 2006 that moviegoers were not treated to a new feature film from the Emeryville, California based computer animation film studio. However, this might soon change considering both Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur set for release in the summer and fall of 2015 respectively.

Today, we have news that will make the Pixar fans even happier. Apparently 2014 won't be a complete loss for the company as they bring back the popular Toy Story gang in their second TV special. As per an announcement made by ABC, Toy Story That Time Forgot will air on the network at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2. Furthermore, many of the main voice actors from the films, including Tim Allen, Don Rickles, and Joan Cusack will be returning to repeat their roles.

Some plot details of the show was revealed by ABC. The show will feature the toys in "uncharted territory" during post-Christmas play with Bonnie. They bump into a set of very impressive action figure that are apparently extremely dangerous and delusional. Trixie, the triceratops from Toy Story 3 will be allotted the task of helping the group return to safety in Bonnie's bedroom.

Since it borrows some elements from the 1995 original, i.e. the idea of "delusional" action figures, the synopsis should sound very recognizable to the followers of the series. You may remember that Buzz Lightyear was not right in the head as he believed he was in fact, a real space ranger. We will have to wait to find out what kind of delusions these new characters will have, but if we go by the franchise's history, it can be expected to be something similar.

Toy Story That Time Forgot will air on ABC on December 2, 2014 at 8 p.m. ET.
