Billy Crystal to Star and Co-Write Jim Henson’s New Animated Movie `Which Witch’

Billy Crystal is joining The Jim Henson Co.'s animated movie project "Which Witch" as a writer, producer and star. 

In a statement to Variety, Crystal said "When Brian Henson called me about it, I didn't know the book. But it's a fantastic story, and I brought in a wonderful writer, Michael Feldman, and we've written a terrific and inventive script. I'll play a character as well, which will be great fun because he actually has two eyes." 

Variety reported that The Jim Henson Company has cast Billy Crystal to write, produce, and star in Which Witch for it upcoming animated feature,

"Which Witch" is an adaptation of the 1979 book Which Witch, which was written by Eva Ibbotson. A wizard, probably played by Crystal, holds a contest among the seven witches of Todcaster to pick a bride. Oh, did we mention Crystal brought back to almost-dead in Princess Bride? He did.

The Jim Henson Company  just put out the live-action family comedy "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day."They are also making four legacy titles from the Henson library. A Fraggle Rock" movie has been in development at New Regency and a sequel to "The Dark Crystal" and a sequel to 1986's "Labyrinth".

Casting has already begun on "Which Witch." The studio is in final talks with a digital animation studio.
