Fans Cheer After George Clooney’s Surprise Appearance At Comic-Con To Promote Upcoming Flick

George Clooney who was just recently married will be starring in a new upcoming Disney film, Tomorrowland, BBC reported.

To promote his new movie, he surprised fans by showing up at a recent comic book convention in New York, which excited those attending the event, and he was welcomed with cheers.

Not expecting to be at the comic con, the newly wed joined the other casts of the movie which is based on one of the fantasy ride in Disney called Tomorrowland.

BBC said the actor's role in the movie is described " as an inventor who finds a way to travel to the fantastical realm of the title."

 "It's not lost on me that I'm spending my honeymoon at Comic-Con," BBC quoted Clooney as saying during his surprise appearance at the Comic-Con.

Deadline meanwhile quoted some of his jokes during the convention, "Yes this is my first Comic-Con. "Since my Batman, I'd been disinvited from Comic-Con. I met Adam West back there; it was like, Hey, I'm really sorry. Sorry about the nipples on the suit..."

In the Deadline article, Clooney described the flick as "larger than most things I've been around" and said Bird "has a real vision for what he wanted to do. It was really fun to do."

A teaser of the movie was also presented during the convention. The movie also starts Britt Robertson ,Judy Greer and Hugh Laurie.

Writer and Director Brad Bird and his co-writer Damon Lindelof were also in the convention to present the trailer of the upcoming film.

Bird is known for his 'Mission Impossible- Ghost Protocol' blockbuster.

CBS News reported that Tomorrowland would be in the cinemas on May 22, 2015.

Clooney was just recently married to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin on Sept .27 at a lavish wedding in Italy.
